Holly Ridge is CLOSED on Monday, February 1st due to weather and slick roads. We will also be CLOSED on Tuesday, February 2nd per WCPSS. Please continue to monitor the WCPSS website and/or the weather channel for future WCPSS closings and delays.

A reminder also that Wednesday, February 3rd is scheduled to be one of our Early Release Dates. However, should school be in session on Wednesday, we will not dismiss students early. All students will be dismissed on February 3, 2010 at the regular time of 3:45pm. Stay safe!

Channel ABC 11 showed a helicopter view of our Holly Ridge Elementary Students during a morning special. Students were seen displaying the "LABS" letters along with a paw print that they created by standingin the back field. LABS stands for Listen, Act Respectfully, Behave Responsibly, and SUCCEED!

NEXT EARLY RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 3, 2010

Wednesdays early dismissal begins at 2:45. This includes every Wednesday this year except for our Early Release dates when school will be dismissed at 1:15pm on the following dates: Feb. 3, Mar. 10, and Apr. 21st.

Parents of 5th grade students in Wake County are invited to take advantage of the Magnet School Informatton Sessions available. Please note that we have new information on MAGNET SCHOOL PROGRAMS. We have PBS news!

We have been selected as a Green Ribbon School in the NC Positive Behavior Support Initiative Annual Recognition.  We will be recognized and awarded a banner at the Conference on Exceptional Children on Nov. 2 in Greensboro. Congratulations to our staff, parents, and students for a team effort in the PBS initiative and a job well done!

We welcome parents to stay involved in our school. Those who wish to volunteer in the classroom, school building, or on field trips can update their 2009-2010 WCPSS clearance in the media center.
