As a reminder, Wednesday, December 2nd is our next EARLY RELEASE DAY. Students will be dismissed at 1:15pm.

Our PTA Beautification Team will be joining interested Holly Ridge families this Saturday, November 7th from noon until 2:00pm at school to move mulch and plant some perennials. Please join us in making Holly Ridge Elementary beautiful!

Our Book Fair this year will be from November 10-16th. This is also open to families on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 4:30-8pm. On November 12th we will open the book store to families and begin our Scholastic Book Fair Shopping Night (4-6pm) with a Family Dinner that will be served at 6:15pm.You may pre-order (pre-orders only for this event) Chick-fil-A combo meals that include a chicken sandwich, chips, and a drink for $5.00. The Chick-fil-A cow will be stopping by from 6:15-7:00pm. All proceeds from the book fair and dinner sponsored by our PTA will benefit our HRE library!

Wednesdays early dismissal begins at 2:45. This includes every Wednesday this year except for our Early Release dates when school will be dismissed at 1:15pm on the following dates: Dec. 2, Feb. 3, Mar. 10, and Apr. 21st.

We have PBS news!

We have been selected as a Green Ribbon School in the NC Positive Behavior Support Initiative Annual Recognition.  We will be recognized and awarded a banner at the Conference on Exceptional Children on Nov. 2 in Greensboro. Congratulations to our staff, parents, and students for a team effort in the PBS initiative and a job well done!

We send a special thank you to all of our wonderful PTA parents who have continued to assist with our new schedule, carpool, and lunch duties. Our PTA families have helped students feel comfortable at school as they learn new routines and schedules.
