PLT WED. 10/14/09 AGENDA AND SUMMARY
Agenda: Grade Levels
worked on Individual Student Goal Sheets
Summary: We reviewed
the intervention pyramid and discussed how will we
know when students are responding to CORE instruction. We will use progress monitoring using all of
the data we collect from Universal Screenings, Digging Deeper Assessments,
Common Assessments, Blue Diamond Assessments, Quarterly Assessments, and
observations. We will also track how our
strategic interventions are working. We
will compare these results throughout the length of the goal. If the interventions aren’t working we will
adjust our instruction. Teachers
developed individual goal sheets for students based on the above information.

PLT WEDNESDAY OCT. 7, 2009
AGENDA AND SUMMARY
The purpose of today’s PLT is to better understand how our Universal Screening
and Digging Deeper Assessments drive instruction
Our desired outcomes of
today’s meeting are:
è
Understand the
process for meeting the needs of all students in reading using data
è
Become familiar
with the resource K-5 Reading: Moving From
Assessment to Instruction notebook
è
Plan appropriate
instruction for all students
Summary:
The PLT teams analyzed
student data to determine specific instructional needs. We determined that word work in K-2 and 3-5
literacy was a needed focus especially vowel sounds. The next step was to indentify researched
based reading interventions that can be used to teach this reading focus. Since we were seeing so many 3rd,
4th, & 5th grade students struggle with vowel sounds,
we realized the need to emphasize this objective more thoroughly in K-2
grades. Each grade level PLT came up
with a plan to utilize other instructional support personnel, within their
classrooms, to identify and work with students needing interventions.
